Elizabeth Wu

As a child, I went with my grandmother to the Episcopalian service on Sunday mornings and then to the Buddhist temple with an offering in the afternoon. After being immersed in catechism classes in my early teens, followed by an introduction to yoga and Sufism as a young adult, it felt very natural to delve into world religions in my graduate studies.

I loved reading about Jesus's life as a youngster as much as I loved being in the ashram of my Guru in India as an adult. In my later years, finding inclusion and acceptance of different traditions' teachings at Agape was refreshing and inspiring.

I taught children's Sunday school for over thirty years at the SAI Spiritual Education Program and assisted in the children's Sunday school at Self Realization Fellowship. Both programs embraced ancient teachings and universal human values. I also participated in designing and conducting special sessions for the children's program at the Agape Revelation events.

When I said yes to Jacque Adamu's invitation to be her co-leader with The Agape Wise Ones (TAWO) in late 2018, we didn't know a pandemic was brewing. Being one of the architects of our new virtual structure and seeing how well TAWO has flourished has been very gratifying. At the same time, giving service at TAWO has created more alignment in my spiritual development.
